Isabel Marant's cool and rebellious man

Isabel Marant's cool and rebellious man

Until recently, Isabel Marant only dressed women. But the Parisian designer did not stop there and launched a collection entirely dedicated to men.

If Isabel Marant has fun distorting codes by picking from the male wardrobe for her women's collections, she did not hesitate to draw inspiration from the female pieces in her Etoile collection to adapt them to men.

It was in 2017 that the brand so awaited by its aficionados made its debut on the Men's Fashion Week calendar. At each of its fashion shows, certain iconic pieces from its second Etoile line are revisited and adjusted to man, the designer constantly playing on the androgyny of individuals.

And this new edition is by far the strongest: each piece embodies a nonchalant, falsely neglected spirit and echoes the effortless cool style that the whole world envies Parisians. From the sportswear style of sweatshirts and hoodies with the new brand logo, to the lightweight materials of shirts and T-shirts, from knits to fluid and loose construction, the SS19 collection is made up of good timeless basics that every man must have, but also of strong and emblematic pieces of the brand.

The colour palette is warm but is punctuated by touches of pink and green for a fresh and summery look.

Not forgetting of course her American inspirations to which she is so attached, Isabel Marant punctuates her collection of Navajo pieces with bohemian-inspired embroideries. His tartans, straight out of a western, give the collection a subtly rebellious attitude.

The must-have models of the season are obviously the embroidered jacket and matching jeans to wear in a total denim look, the loose knit sweater with irregular stripes to perfectly wear the Marant look but also the technical mid-season parka, whose relaxed fit guarantees a casual style.
