ARCHIVE 18-20
Woolen hat
Born in the heart of the Marais, the Parisian label Archive 18-20 is recognizable by its way of breaking codes, mixing contrasts. Between luxury and streetwear, between masculinity and femininity, between elegance and casualness, the brand plays with conventions. Its iconic pieces, whose workmanship is reminiscent of that of the great houses, are enhanced with an urban touch, as if to thumb its nose at the rigour of tailoring.

Born in 1894 into a family of sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is considered the father of Japanese whisky. After training as a chemist, he was hired by the Settsu Shuzo company, which sent him to Scotland in 1918 to do his apprenticeship. He developed a passion for whisky and decided to devote his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido. His growing success allowed him to establish a second one in 1969 near Sendai, Miyagikyo. It is from the single malts of these two distilleries that the Nikka Whisky group produces its entire range of Japanese whiskies.
