The Perfecto is a leather motorcycle jacket, created in New York in 1928 by Irving Schott. The model is the result of an order from a Harley-Davidson dealer who wanted a durable jacket for the rider in case of accident.
Where does the Perfecto name comes from? Irving named it after his favourite shape of cigar, the Perfecto®.
From its popularity in America’s biker culture to the US military, to arrive to Rock’N Roll lovers and artists such as the Ramones who were known for their love and appreciation of the jacket. Marlon Brando was able to transform the Perfecto into an Icon that still lives today.
It has been 90 years that this model exists and is still, up to now, one of the best selling black jackets worldwide. Truly one of the most recognisable leather jackets in the world.
Now we see leather biker jackets everywhere from Luxury to mass market brands. But do not get confused! The original model is specifically and solely created by the brand SCHOTT. The Perfecto. A utilitarian necessity in the cold winter, that brings attitude and statement and it is charged with symbolic meanings.
